Aliaksei K. joined Ignite Achievers to pursue advanced STEM research under university mentorship. “What drew me to Ignite Achievers was an opportunity to get mentorship from university professors who are experts in their fields,” he says, adding that he wanted to “turn [his] passion for STEM into something meaningful.”
Working with his mentor, Dr. Bisgin, has been a highlight of the program. “He has been very supportive in our research journey and always makes sure to explain complex ideas in an understandable way.” With a 4.0 GPA, 1540 SAT score, and multiple national and regional awards, Aliaksei exemplifies the driven, research-focused students Ignite Achievers supports.

Monroe joined Ignite Achievers after being introduced to the program by college advisors, sharing that they were drawn to it because they had “never really seen a program dedicated to this level of research.” They added that gaining research experience now will help them “stand out in applications” while expanding their knowledge in a rapidly growing computer science field.
One of Monroe’s favorite parts of the program has been the opportunity to collaborate directly with faculty. “Being able to share ideas with a professor that understands and has the knowledge to help me find answers” has been a highlight of the experience. With a 4.26 weighted GPA, leadership as Vice President of the National Science Honors Society, and a published book on Amazon titled All I Know, Monroe exemplifies the intellectually curious and driven students Ignite Achievers supports.

Tariq joined Ignite Achievers to gain hands-on research experience with university professors, sharing that it is “a very good experience that will help me in any job I will get in the future” and that it will be “very good for my resume” as he works toward his goal of attending MIT.
With a 4.53 cumulative GPA, the highest in his grade, Tariq demonstrates exceptional academic excellence and leadership. His accomplishments include serving as Vice President of NHS, teaching and assisting in university-level AI and Python programs, and earning perfect scores with honors in advanced data analytics and programming specializations from Google and the University of Michigan.

Ria joined Ignite Achievers to further her knowledge and experience in biochemistry, sharing that she hopes to “enhance [her] research skills” while developing “meaningful connections” with both peers and her mentor. The program allowed her to grow academically while collaborating in a supportive research environment.
Beyond research, Ria is a dynamic leader and creative thinker. She is the CEO and co-founder of the nonprofit Youth MindCare (launching soon), the author of the children’s book The Hungry Granola Bar, President of her school’s Diversity Club, and Vice President of the Math Honors Society, while also pursuing her passions as a Bollywood dancer and tennis player.

Simran joined Ignite Achievers to further pursue a passion for math and gain early exposure to research. Her favorite part of the program has been the research itself, sharing that she is especially proud of “learning how to read scholarly articles and writing math proofs.”
Simran’s work already reflects college-level impact, with one of her mathematical proofs published in the American Institute of Mathematics’ MathCircular. She exemplifies the kind of intellectually curious and research driven students Ignite Achievers supports.

Samira joined Ignite Achievers to pursue her passion for research and engineering, seeking structured mentorship to turn original ideas into an independent research paper and develop advanced academic research skills at an early stage.
With a 1550 SAT score, leadership on innovation-focused projects, and a 1st place finish at the Genius Olympiad, Samira exemplifies a curious, research-driven student. She also brings over 12 years of dedication as a pianist and remains highly motivated to tackle complex challenges through STEM.

Asim has earned 38 college credits through Eastern Michigan University, maintains a 3.95 GPA, and is a Dean’s List scholar. Through Ignite Achievers, he gained hands-on experience with academic research and writing.

Reflecting on the program, Efe shared, “My favorite part is realizing how motivating it feels to work directly with Professor Zeytuncu on a topic I used to only see in textbooks.” He added, “Learning driven by genuine curiosity, not grades or pressure, is what really matters.

Nurefsan aspires to become a dentist and works diligently toward this goal. After researching ways to strengthen her academic profile, she joined Ignite Achievers, where she developed her scientific writing skills. She reports that mentorship sessions broadened her perspective and helped her clarify her goals.
Beyond academics, Nurefsan holds the highest-level international piano certification (Grade 8) from ABRSM, plays at a professional level, and teaches piano. She regularly organizes community events and donation programs through non-profit organizations and serves as president of her school’s Fashion Art Club.

Krish joined the Ignite Achievers program because it gave him an opportunity to work one-on-one with a university professor on a hands-on research project. Because of this research project, Krish gained valuable insights into the world of cryptography and quantum computing. He is hoping to get his research published, and he is planning to also submit it to a prestigious quantum computing conference.

Ignite Achievers is a high school research program designed for ambitious students who want to strengthen their college admissions profile. We match students with research-active university professors who guide them step-by-step in developing an original research paper. Our structured process combines live mentorship sessions, guided research, and professional feedback, helping students gain real university-level academic experience before graduating high school.
The Ignite Group Research Program is a 12-week course where small cohorts work with a research-active professor in live, interactive sessions. The Ignite 1-on-1 Program offers 12 weeks of fully personalized mentoring focused on your individual project. The Ignite Hybrid Program combines both, 5 weeks in a group setting followed by 5 weeks of one-on-one sessions.
You’ll need to submit your transcripts and a short personal statement. You can also include standardized test scores (SAT/ACT) and your IB or AP exam results, if applicable. These extra materials are optional but can help strengthen your application.
